FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Bensenville, IL (August 5, 2013) – Lake Cable proudly announced today that it has added a new level of approval from Underwriters Laboratories for its Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) cable.
Building upon Lake Cable’s extensive track record of UL approvals for its PLTC and TC offerings, this RISER rated LSZH cable has become increasingly essential to use in poorly ventilated installations.
When exposed to a fire or damaged by a short circuit fault, cables that are typically insulated with materials containing halogens will release hydrogen chloride – creating a dangerous scenario in which toxic smoke, acid and poisonous gases are emitted.
In contrast, Lake Cable’s LSZH offering features a thermoplastic jacket compound that not only significantly shields people and equipment from such toxic chemicals and corrosive gases but also potentially reduces the impact on the environment.
